Torian Rides on the Edge

Producer of SmokeOut 9, Edge, rides with Torian Chopper Leathers’ Long Sleeve Race Shirt. It’s designed for those times when you don’t need a jacket but demand protection. It’s great for cool morning or evening riding.
Features 2 chest flap pockets, 2 hand warmer pockets and a full lining. When the weather turns chilly we recommend wearing the shirt under the Race Jacket.
Our shirts are made from hand-selected goat skin. This hide provides the soft feel of lamb and the durability of cowhide in a light weight.

SmokeOut 9 Update - Bike Show & Bands
The following are details on the bands and ride-in bike show for SmokeOut 9. The team at Torian is looking forward to meeting everyone. We will be in the vendor area. On hand will be Cherry Blair helping out.
The five SmokeOut bands include the BELMONT PLAYBOYS, DEADBOLT, Aliwiscious Farhatt, Straight 8’s and KELLY and the COWBOYS.
| DEADBOLT
Deadbolt’s music combines surf rock, goth, psychobilly and blues sound with unusual and offbeat lyrics, a style the band dubbed “voodoobilly.” Besides the release of several CDs, the band has toured both North America and Europe extensively. Band’s Website -> www.downinthelab.com |

| BELMONT PLAYBOYS
“You guys sound great, just like we did forty years ago.” When the Man in Black speaks like that, you best listen. And when Little Richard buttonholes you in the hallway of a New York City club just to tell you how much he likes your sound, you’ve gotta figure you’re doing something right. The Belmont Playboys come smoking out of Charlotte, North Carolina with twice-pipes and cheater slicks, leaving a trail of rabid fans behind them like Burma-Shave signs. Featuring Mike Hendrix on guitar and vocals, Jeff Hendrix on upright bass, Chipps Baker on guitar, vocals, and sax, and Mark Painter on drums, the Belmont Playboys deliver the goods without confusing the issue with any kind of cornball retro bullshit. | ALOWISHIOUS FARHATT
It was late in the good old year of 2001 that Alowishious was born, bringing together three local Manassas, Virginia musicians. It was in his senior year at Osbourn High School that guitarist Rick Patoray, a native of Youngstown, Ohio, met bassist Zach Bossart, and drummer Kenny Thomas. After Patoray graduated he continued as a working musician, playing with bands in numerous bars and clubs in the area. To keep busy with his music, he suggested that Bossart and Thomas join him in learning some cover songs to play as an opening act at a local bar. The trio gathered one day to learn about sixty minutes of music for their set, including tunes by the Stray Cats, Johnny Cash, Reverend Horton Heat, CCR and more. | STRAIGHT 8’s
Not since the Stray Cats ruled the boards in the early 80s has a group seemed so determined and dedicated to its own unique vision… The Straight 8s approach the rockabilly altar with genuine musical chops and a flair for “testifying” on behalf of this sturdy American genre. -Jeremy Haden Band’s Website - > www.straight8s.com |

| KELLY and the COWBOYS
“The Mount Airy Country Quartet, fronted by the “can’t possibly sound anymore country” crooner Kelley Breiding, play that old-time American music–the Patsy Cline, Hank Sr. kind– at honky-tonks and break-up parties. Their originals are intermingled with obscure and classic country covers, gathering western swing, blues and Rockabilly along the way, and making even the tin rafters of honky-tonks sing along.” |

SmokeOut Bike Show
The Smoke Out is host to the greatest ride in owner-garage-built-ride-in-bike-show in the world. This is the quickest path to have your bike featured in the pages of The HORSE Backstreet Choppers Magazine.
This bike show has only one class: CHOPPER. Choppers of all varieties are represented, bobbers, Swedish Chops, Rock-a-Billy Chops, etc. as well as various engine configurations such as Sportsters, metric engines, Shovelheads, Evos, everything.
The HORSE, BC staff picks TEN winners. There is no First, Second, Third etc ? just TEN winners. All winners are featured in the magazine. These ten bikes usually represent a variety of styles and engine configurations, so every well-built chopper has a chance.
This is a ride in show. The quickest way to discredit your chopper is to tow it in. Registration for the show will be during the Smoke Out at the Smoke House. The location and times for registration will be shown on the event schedules that are handed out at the event. There is a small entrance fee for registration ($20 per bike). Some contact information and pictures of your bike will be taken as part of the registration process. Your bike will need to stay in place Saturday afternoon ? so you might want to plan on having lunch on the grounds if your bike is your only source of transportation.
