Brass Balls Bobbers
We caught up with Dar Holdsworth of Darwin Motorcycles in Oklahoma City, OK and builder of Brass Balls Choppers and Bobbers. His sleds are clean and he builds them old skool kool.
His latest is a tattoo-styled bobber with a V-Plus heart sourced from Crazy Horse Motorcycles in Kent, WA.
Bobbers are the quintessential example of less is more. Brass Balls Bobbers are powered by an H-D 80″ EVO, an Indian Power Plus 100″ or an S&S 93″ Shovel Generator motor. Darwin Motorcycles offer some of the best built, coolest bikes for the money, period!
Checkout that engine, the retro styled round cylinders and serrated edge rocker boxes have earned it the “Bottlecap” engine. Ole Dar gave the entire build a vintage style with modern engineering.
We talked to Dar about his background. He said,
I’m just a guy with a dream and desire to build bikes.
But Dar is more than that. He spent his adolescent years in an orphanage. He was adopted during his teen years and joined the Air Force after high school. He’s a vet from Desert Storm. He hooked up with Sam Wills of Racing Innovations and assisted in building a few sleds. From there he decided to start his own shop. Sam pitched in and the industry is responding. V-Twin TV did a segment, Barnett Magazine and the Horse have done articles as well.
The gang at Torian Chopper Leathers love the look of the Brass Balls Bobbers from Darwin Motorcycles. They sound just as good as they look!
Keep it in the wind,
- Mouser
